Fr. Chris W. Hadgigeorge

Fr. Chris W. Hadgigeorge was born on August 3, 1924 in Youngstown, OH to William Hadgigeorge and Paraskevi (Spanos) Hadgigeorge.

Chris attended East High School in Youngstown, OH and graduated on June, 1942; Holy Cross School of Theology (1942-1947) Pomfret, CT and Brookline, MA; attended University of Butler Indianapolis, IN.

He got married on March 7, 1948 to Ann Tsagaris in Warren, OH. They have three children: Patricia (Hadgigeorge) Senerius, Angeline (Hadgigeorge) Bohland and William Chris Hadgigeorge.

On April 25, 1948 Chris was ordained a Deacon by Bishop Athenagoras Cavadas, then a Priest on April 29 by Bishop Germanos Polyzoidis. He served the Holy Trinity Church Indianapolis, IN (April 1948 - February 1957), Saint Nicholas Church Detroit, MI (March 1957 - November 1960), Holy Trinity Cathedral, Toledo, OH (December 1960 - August 1991 Retired September 1, 1991) and is currently a Pastor Emeritus of Holy Trinity Cathedral in Toledo, OH.

Father Hadgigeorge holds the Offikia of Pnevmatikos by Bishop Germanos Polyzoidis (1948), Economos by Archbishop Iakovos (1966), Protopresbyter by Archbishop Iakovos (1973), and received the Patriarchal Cross from Patriarch Bartholomew (2006). Also was awarded Saint Paul's Medal from Archbishop Iakovos (1985) and Saint Romanos Melodos Medal from Mid-Eastern Greek Orthodox Choir Federation (1998).
