Fr. Nicholas Marcus

Fr. Nick was born December 11, 1961.  He grew up at St. Nicholas Church in Detroit where he met and married Presvytera Liza in 1989. They have fostered children and are blessed with triplets - Nicholas Jonathan, Anna, and Irini who were born on St. Nicholas day 1999. Presvytera has a degree as a Legal Assistant and has worked at the Department of Religious Ed in Boston.

Fr. Nick attended Hellenic College/Holy Cross in Brookline Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelor’s degree with high distinction and a Master’s degree in Divinity with honors in 2008. 

He was the chanter of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, Plymouth Michigan for 12 years and the chanter of St. Nicholas Church in Lexington Massachusetts 4 years.

He was ordained to the Diaconate in March and to the Priesthood in July of 2009, by His Eminence Metropolitan Nicholas of Detroit at the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.  He is the presiding Priest of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids, MI since August 2009.

He has served as Liaison for the Friends of the Metropolis, Diocese Youth Liaison, Youth Director in early 1980s and a spiritual advisor for the Mental Health Association of Western Michigan.

He has contributed text for A Lamp to My Feet “Zine Magazine” for the Archdiocese Department of Religious Ed.
