Holy Trinity Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan hosted the Greek Orthodox Youth Olympics this past weekend (January 27-28). Young people from all over the Metropolis of Detroit joined together in order to get better acquainted, have fun, and learn about their faith. Participants came from as far away as Cincinnati to take part in this, the fourth year of this wonderful event.

​Recently, Eva Konstantakos (our Metropolis of Detroit Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries) was interviewed by John Lazar of DOOR (Detroit's Own Orthodox Radio) to discuss youth and young adult ministries in the area.

​Woburn, Mass. – The Metropolis of Boston and Annunciation Church hosted this year’s 34th annual St. John Chrysostom National Oratorical Festival the weekend of June 9-11, 2017.

The St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine is now accepting submissions for the 2017 Annual Essay Contest, which is open to teens age 13-19.

All youth (ages 8-18) from the Central and Southern areas of the Metropolis of Detroit are invited to the Southern Area Youth Lenten Retreat. This year's retreat will be held March 31-April 2, 2017 and will be hosted by Holy Trinity Church in Nashville, TN.

​Applications for scholarships administered by the Office of the Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America are available for awards to be made for the 2017-2018 academic year. 

All GOYAns in or near the Upstate NY areas of our Metropolis are invited to attend this annual GOYA Lenten Retreat. This year's retreat will be hosted by Holy Spirit Church in Rochester, NY on Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 9:00am - 7:00pm.

All GOYAns in or near Michigan are welcome to attend the annual GOYA Lenten Retreat on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 11:30am - 7:30pm. This year's retreat will be hosted by Assumption Church in Saint Clair Shores, MI.

Plans are underway for the 2017 St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival in the Metropolis of Detroit. The 2017 District and Metropolis Festival dates and locations have been set.
